The Rockies - and my Tooth

So the Rockies lost in the World Series (4-0), I have to admit I was a bit disappointed that they didn't win at least 1 game, I'd say it was due to the long layoff. Well I'm not much of a baseball fan, however I lived in DFW for 7 years and the Rangers really never had a winning season during that time so I never got excited for them. So we'll see about next year, maybe they can do a Cinderella style story again ... or next time just dominate.

So I've had a tooth ache for the last 10 months and refused to get a root canal done, however last week I had the ultimate in tooth pains. I was hurting, the kind of pain were nothing you can do helps to alleviate the pain that engulfs you... yeah it was bad. So yesterday I went and just had it pulled and will have a permanent placed later next year - oh the relief --- or maybe it's just the pain medication I'm on... but there is relief none the less...
I've never been so out of it as lately --- it is definitely the pain killers - yesterday was like dream once the extraction was done. They did use some kind of anesthesia that knocked me out for 30+ mins - I never felt like I truly woke up.

Time to hangout with Tara - we'll watch a movie in a bit --- Intolerable Cruelty - or - Perfect Stranger --- or Pathfinder... oh the choices...

You all have a good night.

We Love Colorado --- Miller Family Shoot

We've lived here now a little over 6 months, and I can honestly say that we love it here. We love hiking, the weather, the mountains, our church, the lack of traffic (in comparison to Dallas), and lots of other misc things like the clean air, the crisp clean water, etc - this can be a long long long list. I especially love the people who I've met through my Photography Business, case in point - the Miller family.
What a lovely cute family they are and they have another beautiful baby on the way which from seeing Mom Dad and Big Sis -- will certainly be a stunningly beautiful child. The sun light ran out on us by the time we completed the shoot - but that didn't stop creativity --- below are some of the images from the their shoot...

Engagement Session 10.20.07

What a fun time we had last week, I got poop on my shoe and hand and just about twisted my ankle, however when all said and done - I really had fun with Alison & Brad and got some wonderful images and got to know them a little more- they're a really cool couple. We met at downtown Manitou Springs and then wound up at Mount Manitou - a small hike to the top of the mountain... ok I kid -- we were at the bottom.

I had such a great time with Alison & Brad - what a fun couple. I hope we have a nice cold glass of Shnitzlefaugenhimer soon... (inside joke)....

Congratulations you two on your engagement - you are a fun lovely couple. Let's hang sometime soon.

Here are some images from our time together...

Snow in October

Wow - Snow in October... I think I vaguely remember a very distant memory of snow in October many many years ago when I lived in Oklahoma. But today is a new memory that I'm sure we'll have lots more of in the many years to come in Colorado. Today we woke up to a beautiful blanket of snow everywhere, on everything. The local news said it was going to be a white-out and they were 100% correct - it's really nice. I drove out and got some Dunkin Donuts for us - yeah I know ... cake for breakfast... how healthy- Mom said I shouldn't eat cake for breakfast, but she never said anything about Dunkin Donuts... Mmmmm

Pictures taken on my cell phone:

Oh and the movie last night, the Contract, was stupid. We were exceedingly disappointed in a movie starring Morgan Freeman and John Cusack - do not rent this movie. The dialogue was lame and reminded me of a bad "B" movie. Off to Tar'shay..

Busy Exhausting Day

What a day! I am so tired right now, my eyes are drooping low. I went to sleep last night around 1 AM and woke up and 530 AM -- couldn't sleep and then couldn't go back to sleep when Tara woke up.

So on my "To Do" list today was:

1) Setup for Garage Sale - 6:30 AM
2) Pickup extra family items - 7:20 AM
3) Leave for Photography job #1 - 8:20 AM
4) Back home - 10:30 AM - help sell at Garage Sale
5) Clean up and close down Garage Sale - 1:30 PM
6) Leave for Photography job #2 - 1:45 PM
7) Leave from job #2 to Photography job #3 - 430 PM

Everything went smoothly today --- just a long long day. Now I'm going to lay on the couch and watch a movie... i think we'll watch "the Contract" with Morgan Freeman and John Cusack.

I'll post some of the pictures from this weekend's photography sessions later this week. But for now - take care and get some rest... I know I will.

Angell Family

This past Saturday was pretty busy - as I had another family session with another adorably cute family - the Angell's. How polite were there kids... they were all just so well mannered and full of energy, I think I'll need to start drinking an energy drink before my shoots. I had a such great time with them and can't wait for next time. Below are some of the sample images from their shoot. Brian/Erin - your family was such a pleasure to work with can't wait to do it again... :)

October PS LOVE

Well this is something that I talked about in previous posts that I would be rolling out soon. PS LOVE - giving your pictures some Photoshop LOVE. This month is the 1st month that I'm rolling this out - so I hope that I get a good response.

Here's how it works if you'd like to participate in this months PS LOVE:

Pick out a favorite picture of yours that you really love - but would love to see what it would look like if a professional was able to put an artistic flare to your picture. Got a picture in mind? Good. Now I'll need you to email me (enoch@enochphotography.com) a full resolution picture - the higher the quality the better.

I'll choose my favorite picture for this month and give it some Photoshop Love and email the image back to you in full resolution. I'll post before and after images so that everyone can see who got some PS Lovin for the month and how there image turned out.

Now - get to finding a picture and send it to me... Please have your pictures to me by next Saturday - (10/20/07) - I'll post once I've completed the lovin... ;-)

Here's an example of a before and after image...

BEFORE: (not a bad picture as is... but add some PS Love to it...)

AFTER: (ah now the colors pop and the picture looks great...)

Mount Manitou - We did it!

Last Wednesday was "Date Night" for Tara and I - we decided to have an adventure date and then go out to eat at Noodles Inc. Instead of a movie or just a walk we decided to tackle to Mantiou Incline - it was amazing.

Imagine thousands of steps, 1 mile straight up... 2000+' elevation gain.... average of 40% grade and a high of 68% grade.

Imagine starting at 6574' and climbing to 8585'. Some do it under 15-30 mins, running. Some take 3 hours. There are about 5,000 railroad ties.

If it were a ski slope, it would be a “black” run — that’s how steep it is. And that’s how potentially dangerous it is, said officials for the owners, the Manitou and Pikes Peak Cog Railway. The railroad track was built into the side of a mountain in the shadow of Pikes Peak in the early 1920s. A train carted tourists to the top until a rock slide wiped out a portion of the track in the late 1980s A few years later, the tracks were dismantled, leaving only the railroad ties.

It was about that time when the hikers showed up. And they won’t leave. On any weekend, hundreds of them, if not thousands, walk right by the “No Trespassing” sign as they start their grueling ascent. It is about heart...it is about courage...it is about a personal challenge.

Hiking, running, walking, or crawling up the Incline is tough...nothing easy about it. Sure, it's not Everest...but it's tough. Some people do it daily, some do it once in a lifetime. Tara and I decided to attempt the feat and we kicked butt... well kicked butt in 1.5 hours... next week we do it again!..

This is from the fire last week - really devastated the land.

We DID IT! Ahhh what a grueling trek!
