Aylah J Miller

A couple months ago I took pictures for a mother that was expecting and her family - it was a nice beautiful fun session. Well fast forward to now and she's given birth to a very beautiful baby, below are some sample images from our last session - I honestly can't wait to shoot this beautiful family again...

Happy 9th Anniversary

Today is my 9th year being married to such a wonderful person. I have been fortunate enough to share my life for the last 9 years with such a wonderful person. We met on October of 1996 and started dating a month later - I knew right away I'd marry her and we'd share life together for ever. Tara Lee Gonzalez, she is a strong wonderful woman that has been my inspiration when I need some and along with my Lord and Savior, she has been my strength when I have been weak. I love her and know that this will be the very bestest year of our marriage... I'm really excited for our 10th year anniversary next year... we're going to go all out for it.

Honey ... I love you so much, there is no other place I'd rather be but here with you were I belong.

Franktown Family Fun

This past Sunday, which was a very pleasant day, I drove out to Franktown CO - a small town north of Colorado Springs. I was met by a wonderful family for a photo shoot - they were all so sweet and nice and very friendly. We walked around the property and snapped away as I saw things pop out at me. The kiddos were great - oh so pretty --- and handsome.
I did realize something though ... when I go to lay down and take a picture I should ALWAYS double check what I will be laying down in. I saw a great shot - so down I went on my back...... incactus (I believe - I never saw it ... I just felt it). When I arrived home Tara had to pull out about 100 or so small thorns from my back - to say the least the drive home wasn't pleasant. Lesson Learned! ha.

Well here are some of the images from the day - hope you enjoy -Enoch.

Burger Queen .... oh and Heroes!

Ok so my wife and daughter are both vegetarians, Tara and I use to be vegans for like 7 years. Now I've gone back to eating chicken, cause it's just oh so tasty. So after a shoot I swung by Burger King and picked myself up something and Kenzie and crown. Isn't she the cutest. I love her...

(SPOILER ALERT if you haven't watched Heroes tonight)

And OMG! They just killed off HRG (Noah - Claire's Dad) --- What???
- but then the Ending!!! How crazy is that???? Love love love this show.

Davidson Family Shoot

It was cold at 7:45 AM this morning when I left the house. I dressed appropriately, I thought to myself - long john undershirt, layered with another short sleeve shirt on top, and my new thick jean jacket with wool-like collar, I knew I'd be kept warm today. Yeah I was right... but too warm would have been a better thought - should have thought about the hiking.... ;-)
So we met at Red Rock Canyon park at 8:30 AM, sky was partially barely cloudy and the air was crisp and it felt great outside. Daniel and Lauren pulled up and were extremely friendly from the get go and their little guy was just so cute... oh and they had a dog- and beeautiful beautiful dog.
Well we did get a small hike in while taking pictures throughout this gorgeous location - it was great. I had a great time with the Davidson's and hope to do it again soon - but enough with my rambling... on to the pictures... enjoy.

Venners Family

This past weekend I spent some time with the Venners, what a lovely family - they are all some much in love with each other, it's so nice to see. We met on Sunday at Garden of the Gods and I had the pleasure to shoot some really great shots of them.

Alice - you have one of the most contagious smiles.

Below are some samples from their session... enjoy.

Stock Photography - Ready Shoot Aim...

So I've made a decision to get into stock photography. This is something new to me and something I know hardly anything about, however this has never stopped me before. See I'm part of this awesome Photographer forum and stock photography come up on a thread - it really explained the process in detail and lots of other photographers had really good questions, so I researched it and am really getting excited about it. However I was hesitant that I could do it ... I'd be out of my league and I wouldn't do well...
Then today I read a post by David Jay - Failure is impossible. What a great person he is - motivated me my whole photography career so far - I thank him for that. Well there was this saying that he placed, it came from Guy Kawasaki, a chief evangelist for Apple that said we need to approach most businesses with a "Ready, Shoot, Aim" mentality.
I'm taking this mentality in business going forward and I know I will succeed - no matter if there are bumps in the journey to success I will learn from those mistakes and continue on...
I may not be fully prepared for this journey but I will jump in and take the plunge --- and I will be sure to keep you all fully informed.

Movie Review --- Mr.Brooks

Just watched it -- getting ready to go run... but had to Blog about it. Great movie - didn't care for the sex scene in the beginning - not really needed - we fast forward that part. However overall ... wow - great movie... disturbing though.

Anyways --- if you like thrillers rent this movie. Good job overall for all the actors...

night.

My Day off and what I did...

Today was my day off... Here's what i did : (not in any order really)

1) Slept in till 10 AM... oh it was nice... woke up by Kenzie... love when she wake me up with Tara.
2) Made Oatmeal and ate it with Kenzie
3) Showered
4) watched the Price is Right
5) worked of Photography Images - post processing
6) looked up some websites
7) fixed Tara's iBook powercord - ran to Radio Shack to pick up some pieces.
8) Straighted up
9) Watched the Office on NBC.com (...too funny... I was dying laughing when Karen walked up to Jim in the PT Cruiser)
10) Played with Tara and Kenzie - Hide and Go Seek - played this for a long time.
11) Booked another photo shoot for later this month (Thank you God for the Blessing that I have in order to do this --- and some day as full time for a living) --- I think I'm good... ;-)
12) Getting ready to watch a movie - Mr.Brooks --- looks good. Tara doesn't like Kevin Costner says that all of his characters are the same in every movie... I kinda agree... but I still like him. I for one liked Water World... oh and the Postman... both great movies! ;-)

Ok that's enough ... she's waiting for me to start the movie now... laters.

Tomorrow - more Photography work and then --- going to the Colorado Springs ZOO.
I'll post some pictures.

Up tired and need to sleep - rambling...

Family (Tara's side) arrived today - staying elsewhere in town. 2nd time I've meet them... nice people the lot of them, different as we all are - but nice none the less. They're all the same though that side of the family. I was on my pain meds while visiting - so it went well I guess... I always try to be talkative, however I just know I had a dumb blank look on my face... can't wait to get off these meds. Next week ... I'll be better. No more pain killers... I don't see how someone can get addicted to these... they make me feel slow and dumb.

I love my family - can't wait to see them. I'm a bad son to my mom... visiting'wise that is. You know it's been about 1.5 years since I saw my Mom last --- i do call her at least 3 times a week though... that counts for something right? I love her dearly ... life just gets in the way. That's one of my HORRIBLE traits - I tend to get selfish and think only about my immediate family and not my extended family as much... cousins, aunts, grandma, etc... I need to call old friends more often and reach out to my extended family more... just to say hello. I'm a horrible person when it comes to staying in touch... this I really need to change. ANyways... like I was saying...
... I do love my family and can't wait to see my Brother and his Baby girl and my Big Sister and hopefully when we drive out there (where? Tulsa, OK) her Baby will be born -- she's due on November 2o'something... we're going to OK on Nov 29th ... day after our 9th year wedding anniversary. Also see my Mom and my little sister... oh and of course my step-Dad --- I'm really excited for all of us to set around and just talk and joke. That'll be fun. Good times.

Didn't get to watch any of our Thursday shows tonight - as we had to visit Family --- so when we got home .. we put Kenzie to sleep and watched "Pushing Daisies" on ABC.com --- if you haven't watched this show already ... you must... it is one of our new favorite shows. It's original and fresh...

ok ... enough rambling ... i need to go to sleep... mornings come early... but I'm off tomorrow... so I may just sleep in... Nighty night. -e
